TWO stalwarts of the country and western music scene will perform in a Droitwich Spa venue next weekend.
The hilarious Slim Pickins will be joined by the smooth voice of Ed Person in a double bill show at the End of the Trail Country Music Club on Friday, June 4.
Slim Pickins has performed at the club before and always proves popular thanks to his excellent, family-orientated sense of humour and great vocals.
He has been on the music scene for more than 30 years and has recorded at least 30 albums. He has played with a wealth of well-known artists including Don Gibson and Tex Ritter.
Next Friday he will be joined by Ed Pearson, making his first visit to the Droitwich country music club.
Ed, both a natural comic and musician, has also been on the scene for more than 30 years and was the founder member of legendary group Ned Porridge.
He has toured Europe and was the compere at the Americana International Festival. His current double bill show with Slim Pickins has proved very popular.
Club organiser Wilf Saunders said: "This could be another night when we all go home with aching sides. Be with us for this one, it should be good."
The gig will be held at the Royal British Legion Club, in Salwarpe Road, from 8pm.
Tickets are £4.50, available on the door or from Wilf on 01905 771540.
