TALKING of smoking (Phillpott File, Monday, May 17) when my late dad was in his 30s, he had a bet with a workmate that they would both try to stop smoking for a month.
They both stuck it out, but then the other man started again.
Dad gave it up for good, and maintained he felt much fitter as a result.
