"IT was the best result I've been involved in with this club," said Wythall vice-captain Matt Elwell after the Silver Street men overcame the might of Wishaw.
The Wishaw team who came down a division last season were branded 'arrogant' and 'nonchalant' by Elwell after his team turned up at the Sutton Coldfield ground and were greeted with the name 'Wital' instead of Wythall.
"They just totally underestimated us," said Elwell.
"There was a lot of mickey-taking in the field when we were losing wickets, we were total underdogs," he added.
And Wythall were up against it. After losing the toss the visitors were put into bat and they struggled.
Wishaw could almost taste victory with an easily reachable target of 112 to win but how wrong they were.
Captain Martin Priest led his troops and gave the incentive but the game was still looking beyond the visitors with Wishaw easily notching up 60 without loss.
But a major collapse thanks mainly to youngster Andy Rhodes saw the home side all out for 103.
The result leaves Wythall in second place in the Warwickshire League Division Two.
Elwell added: "It was a great result, we were all absolutely buzzing after the game."
