REDDITCH rocked on Friday night in tribute to Lilsumo, a local band who have sadly decided to call it a day after two very successful years.
Three bands preceded the main attraction; starting with the up-and- coming young band A Losing Side. They were followed by the impressive Double Standard and then by the even more impressive Dharma Drive.
Fronted by Matt Terry, who had real stage presence; I feel they may have an exciting future ahead of them. Dharma Drive are appearing at AlcesterFest, along with several other bands, on Saturday night at Alcester's Greig Hall (5.30pm, entry £6).
However, the night belonged to Lilsumo, who performed a long set, playing various tracks from their repertoire, including some old favourites. Vocalist Brett, guitarist Luke, John on bass and DJ Ed had the packed audience jumping and moshing.
And there should be a special mention for drummer Mark who put on a really tight, energetic performance.
Sadly, their show had to be curtailed and two favourite numbers were not performed, much to the disappointment of everyone there.
But perhaps it was a fitting way to end for the band - leaving the audience wanting more.
