A NEW College student is celebrating after hearing his work is to be published in the 2004 Student Design & Art Direction Annual.
Andrew Whittles, a first year HND graphic design student, entered his work into the prestigious and fiercely fought competition along with about 2,500 other entrants.
Andrew, 19, from Redditch, submitted his work into the illustration brief where he created images on the theme of '22 miles' - the distance between France and England by sea, as they were to be used in an advertisement by the French ferry company SeaFrance.
Andrew said: "I'm glad I stayed at NEW College as the closeknit HND group and team spirit has motivated me to work hard for this competition.
"Having my work published alongside students from some of the best universities nationally and internationally is a great boost at this stage of my career and has given me focus and direction for the final year of my course."
NEW College Art and Design department is holding its annual end of year show on Wednesday, June 23, at Britten House where students' work will be on display.
