THE society held a successful local history exhibition on May 8 and 9 in Feckenham Village Hall.
More than 500 visitors saw a display on the history of the large Feckenham parish that featured the villages and hamlets within its boundaries, as well as information on local industries and agriculture.
The society was able to mount this exhibition as a result of a grant from the Awards for All lottery fund.
At the last meeting of the current season, the topic was A Camera in the Cotswolds, presented by Bernard Pumfrey, who described himself as an architectural historian.
He took the audience on a whirlwind tour the area, featuring many of the beautiful buildings in such towns as Cirencester and Chipping Camden and villages like Stanton and Swinbrook.
He particularly recommended Rodmartin House and his talk inspired many members to make a trip to this wonderful area to see for themselves the architecture he had described so enthusiastically.
The next meeting will be after the summer break on Thursday, September 9 at 7.30pm in Feckenham Village Hall.
The topic will be the Dear Polly Letters by Meriel Hayes. New members and visitors welcome.
