AT the May meeting, the candle of friendship was lit for Inner Wheel Association president Beatrice Lapham's club, Chelsea and Westminster.
Four Redditch club members recently attended the Association Inner Wheel Conference held in Bournemouth and Marlene Shaw reported on the many interesting events held there.
These ranged from crossword puzzles and barn dances to speakers such as Simon Westward, who overcame horrific injuries received in the Falklands War.
Proposals for Inner Wheel approval were discussed and voted upon and the conference ended with a Roaring Twenties night.
Valerie Pickering was thanked for the use of her home as the venue for Sunday lunch, an event all enjoyed and was much appreciated. President Irene Gardner asked members to decide on the choice of charities which could benefit from the charity fund this year. Acorns Trust and Air Ambulance were chosen as the main beneficiaries.
Irene reminded members the June meeting would be the AGM and her last as president for the year.
