A SNOOKER star has made a name for himself by setting a unique record.
Mark Sutton, who plays for West Heath in the Bromsgrove League, has become the first player to win the singles, doubles and triples competitions since the treble came into existence 25 years ago.
Sutton, with breaks of 101 and 102 this season, won the events within a week of each other this month.
After beating Jonny Rogers in the singles, he won the doubles with Allan Pickerill and the triples with Pickerill and Mark Elliman.
He said: "It's some achievement but without being big-headed, I expected to do it."
Mark, from Northfield, came close to a similar achievement in the Stirchley League, reaching the singles and doubles final.
The 30-year-old, who has made two 147 maximums, also made a 98 clearance to help the Bromsgrove League reach the County Inter-League championship final for the first time in 20 years. He compiled his break in their semi-final victory over Redditch. Stuart Watson, who has the league's best-ever break of 137, also contributed a 97 break. Bromsgrove play Dudley on Thursday, June 3.
