LEE Volante, G0MTN, from the RSGB HF and VHF Contest Committee, provided an illustrated talk at the May meeting on Amateur Radio Contests.
The next event is a Summer Outdoor Activity Night on Tuesday June 1 at Brintons Chainwire Club, Zortech Avenue, Oldington starting at 8pm. Several amateur radio stations will be operating, plus a barbecue (bring your own food), a demonstration of a restored Russian military radio truck, and (weather permitting) a fly-in of microlight aircraft led by Kevin Mallin G0TPZ. Visitors are welcome.
On Sunday June 20, Society members will be operating Special Event Station callsign GB0WCM, open to the public, from Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle as part of the International Museums Weekend.
The Museum is open from 11am till 5pm.
The radio society offers free membership until September.
