AFTER initial formalities at the May meeting, Mollie Long reported on her visit to the Nandi Hills Branch of the East African Women's League. She had to travel several hours to get to the meeting, which was held in a member's home.
After four days back from Kenya, she hosted a lunch in aid of the EAWL at her home which raised £206.
Margaret Shaddock was thanked for her course of art classes for members by Pam Stubbs, who made a presentation to her. There was an exhibition of the students' efforts.
The resolutions on GM crops, trafficking in women and the Air Ambulance were led by three members, Barbara Hughes, Brenda Banner and Patsy Anderson and the votes recorded.
The evening ended with Mary Wehner and Pat Gale performing monologues and duologues.
The next meeting wil be on June 14 in the village hall at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Liz Smith on "Ewe and You."
