ARTISTS signed to Kidderminster College's Mighty Atom Smasher record label are set to appear on stage with chart-topping pop stars, Big Brovaz, Liberty X and McFly, in a music festival.
The Bozwelz - which is made up of four 18-year-olds and 25-year-old Marc Potter, aka Melo DJ, from Stourport, are performing in front of around 30,000 music fans at Sandwell Park Farm Showground in West Bromwich on Sunday.
The Bozwelz - who previously spelled their name, The Boswells, but changed it when they found an American band of the same name already existed - comprise singer, Pete Allen, bassist, Ben Dugdale, drummer, Dave Hingley and guitarist, Jamie Houston.
DJ/producer Marc, aka Melo DJ, who is studying music management at Kidderminster College, is no stranger to playing at music festivals, having performed at the Larmer Tree Festival alongside musical greats, Jools Holland and Van Morrison.
He is also performing alongside MAS band, Cantaloop, at this year's Ludlow Fringe Festival on July 1.
"I'm really chuffed about the Party in The Park," he said.
"I'm doing a 20-minute slot on the day and will be playing two new tracks, as well as two old ones. I'll also do some MC-ing to keep the crowd up for it."
The former Stourport High School pupil, who used to work as resident DJ for Stourport-based dance outfit, Deuce Soundsystem, added: "Over the last 12 months I've really gone to town playing in bigger events. Before then, I was doing more intimate gigs.
"I'm also working on my own album at the moment which I hope to release on my 26th birthday on September 21."
Drummer, Dave, of The Boswelz, added: "It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I'm just really glad we've been given the chance to do it.
"We did the Rock the Castle event at Dudley Castle in front of 1,000 people but have not done anything before that to compare with what we are doing now.
"It's probably only going to sink in fully when we get on stage and get going but I think we'll be all right."
The teenager, who works at a restaurant to earn a living, said he hoped the event would be the band's lucky break and enable them to concentrate on making music full-time.
"We've got a 20-minute slot and think we are opening the festival but the details are to be confirmed," he added.
"It would be amazing if we could give up our day jobs and just work as professional musicians but we'll have to work hard for that to happen.
"After this gig, a lot more people will know who we are so we are really going to start pushing ourselves."
Tracks by The Bozwelz and Melo DJ are featured on MAS compilation album, MAS Records 2, and both are set to perform at the Urban Music Festival at West Midland Safari Park on Friday, July 9, alongside jazz superstar, Courtney Pine.
Other MAS bands will be performing support slots at the annual Ross-on-Wye music festival in August.
Kevyn Gammond, MAS Records project manager, said: "A performance at this year's Party in The Park forms a key part of the promotional campaign we are planning for the Bozwelz and Melo DJ.
"Their latest recordings are now being finished for the forthcoming MAS Records release and good supports like Party In The Park will play a major role in exposing MAS Records artists to new and bigger audiences. They are also looking forward to performing at the Urban Music Festival in July."
