West Midland Safari Park is forecasting a roaring success with a pair of rare white tigers now in residence in its new £250,000 enclosure. White Bengal Tigers are extinct in the wild, but the park has the largest collection in the country with four animal. The park is open from 10am onwards.

It will be full steam ahead at Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, when it holds its Steam and Woodland Fair. Rail enthusiasts will be able to see working engines and rollers, while archery, clay pigeon shooting, falconry and ferret racing are just some of the fun countryside events. The event runs from 10.30am and 5pm on Sunday, May 30, and Monday, May 31.

THE sights, sounds and smells of Mediaeval England will be recreated at Worcestershire County Museum's Hartlebury Castle, near Stourport.

Visitors will have the chance to explore a 15th Century encampment and see brewing, baking, leather making, medical skills and longbow archery. The event is being held on Sunday, May 30, and Monday, May 31, from 11am to 5pm

ROUNDHEADS and Cavaliers have set up camp near Kidderminster to do battle at Harvington Hall. A mini-play, cooking skills and wandering minstrels will all be on show, along with guided tours of the hall with its famous priests' hides. The Hall opens on Sunday, May 30, and Monday, May 31, from 11.30am to 4.30pm.

THE Severn Valley Railway, between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, is still one of Worcestershire's premier attractions.

Be transported back in time on the steam train journey that follows the River Severn. Trains run every 75 minutes on Saturday and every hour on Sunday and Monday, with the first train leaving Kidderminster at 9.55am.

Witley Court's spectacular Perseus and Andromeda fountain will be fired up throughout the Bank Holiday weekend. Its 90ft main jet will be turned on every hour on the hour, between 10am and 5pm from Saturday to Monday.

FAIRY tales and stories about nature will be read to youngsters during a fun-filled woodland stroll at Worcester's Countryside Centre, off Spetchley Road. Conservation officer Rory McClure will lead parents and their children on the free nature trail on Saturday at 11am and should last around an hour.

n MUSICAL time travel will be possible at Avoncroft Museum, Stoke Heath near Bromsgrove, with sounds from the Tudor period up to the 1940s. The music is set to play all day on Sunday, May 30, and Monday, May 31, from 10.30am to 5pm. A bouncy castle, brick making, face painting and wattle and daub sessions will also be available.

DINOSAUR fans can get to grips with 600 million years of history with help from Hereford and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust at Bewdley Museum. The Rock and Fossil Roadshow allows the public to bring in their own fossils, finds and minerals for identification and to try their hand at fossil making. The free event runs at the town's museum in Load Street from 11am to 4pm.
