Harvey Rowberry, a youth of 5 Great Park Street, Wyld's Lane, Worcester, sustained slight concussion as the result of an accident on the hills on Monday. With other he was coming down the hill towards the Happy Valley when he fell. On the way to the station he was taken to Dr Tyrell's, but his injuries were not so serious as to necessitate his detention and he proceeded home. Malvern Gazette, May 27, 1904.

Mr and Mrs H Foley returned home to Stoke Edith after three months' honeymoon in Italy, on Saturday afternoon. The village, park and station were gay with bunting, while the villagers, including many farmers on horseback, assembled to give them a right hearty welcome. Ledbury Free Press, May 31, 1904.

The Dagenham Girl Pipers visited Blackmore Camp, home of No 9 Training Battalion REME, on Monday, when they entertained soldiers, their wives and friends on a lawn in the camp grounds. The programme included demonstrations of sword dancing and afterwards the children in the audience were invited to take part in the dancing.

Tuesday next is the 76th birthday of the Poet Laureate, Mr John Masefield, who was born in Ledbury on June 1, 1878. There is no doubt that the birthplace of the poet has brought the town before the notice of countless people in this and other lands who, otherwise, would not have heard of Ledbury. Have you ever wanted to be in charge of a fleet of boats? The Malvern Hills District Council's resort manager, Mr Glen Kilday, is looking for you - particularly if you happen to be, or to be connected with, a charitable organisation. Mr Kilday wants a charitable group to take over the running of the small fleet of paddle boats in Priory Park. The boats, kept for amusement on the Swan Pool, are no longer economic for the council to run. Malvern Gazette, May 24, 1979.

Milk collections from dairy farms in the Ledbury and Malvern areas looks to be assured, provided promised fuel deliveries reach the tanker depot at Kempley Green, Dymock. The manager of Kempley Green Garage, Ronald Wilden said: "I have been promised a fuel delivery this weekend. Provided that happens, we shall be OK." Ledbury Reporter, May 31, 1979.
