UPTON eased their North Midlands One relegation worries with a quite comfortable victory over Redditch.

UPTON 17pts, REDDITCH 6pts

Throughout the game Upton's forwards were dominant and from an early platform the backs swung the ball wide allowing full back Nigel Watson to touch down in the corner. Rob Heeley converted.

Upton's forwards continued to drive into the opposition and No 8 Matt Bookham powered over for a second unconverted score.

Just before half time Redditch converted a penalty to make the half time score 12-3.

Redditch started the second half brightly but good defence by all Upton players meant they could only convert a second penalty to make the score 12-6.

Despite this Upton's forwards controlled the rest of the game and from a catch and drive from the 22 yard line hooker Paul Pickering buried his way over for Upton's third try.
