ORPHANED children are set to benefit from the money raised from a raffle of one of a county artist's richly textured paintings.
Charlotte Plummer aims to raise vital funds for Barnado's by offering one of the pieces at next week's exhibition at her studio in the Hop Pocket Craft Centre, Bishop's Frome.
Ticket money will go towards sponsorship already raised by the artist for her annual 21-mile walk in Snowdonia, which she embarks on later this year for the charity.
"This is an exciting time for me as I have the opportunity to make a living out of what I enjoy doing most," she said.
"I have had a fantastic response to my work and am receiving many commissions.
"The reason for the raffle is that I do a 20-mile sponsored walk in Snowdonia every year and have run out of people to ask for sponsorship as all my friends now take part in the walk."
The pictures featured in the exhibition from Sunday, May 30 until Sunday, June 6, from 10.30pm to 4.30pm, range from delicate florals to bold abstracts.
All the pieces are original and have a highly textured finish created using a specially formulated resin.
They are painted using acrylics and gold or silver leaf is then carefully applied.
