GREEN-thinking staff at a Worcestershire day centre have launched a new scheme to improve recycling in the area.

The Wyre Forest Day Opportunities centre in Kidderminster has bought a new van to pick up bags of cans and other materials from local pubs, clubs and restaurants.

It will transport the materials to recycling points across the county.

The manager of the centre for adults with learning difficulties, Ron Atherton said: "The vehicle will significantly extend the service currently offered and will provide greater opportunities for our service users to take part in the recycling process.

The vehicle will allow us to extend the number of recycling collection points.
