I READ with interest D E Margrett's view regarding women priests.

The only comment with which I would take issue is that domestic violence is perpetrated only by males.

The issues surrounding spousal abuse by women have always been a matter of great shame and guilt to the recipient.

It is a great pity in these enlightened times that D E Margrett chooses to make these ill-thought out comments putting the work of police medics and Support agencies back decades by dismissing these occurrences just because it supposedly happens rarely - if at all.

The truth is that these incidents are seldom reported and these men suffer in silence. This occurs more often than the public will ever know.

I would only ask that D E Margrett considers his/her responses in future.
