TWO brothers have become the subjects of Droitwich's first anti social behaviour orders - and town police have warned that more could be on their way.

The two-year orders were imposed on 17-year-old Marc and 18-year-old Anthony Bonehill on Friday, May 28, in order to protect Droitwich residents.

Under the ASBOs the brothers - labelled as anti-social behaviour "ring-leaders in the town are banned from:

Causing harassment, alarm or distress

Using foul or abusive language or gestures

Playing, kicking or throwing footballs in certain areas

Entering within 27 yards of the Fox & Goose public house, Farmers Way

The teenagers, of Meadow Road, Droitwich, both face up to five years in prison or a substantial" fine if they flout the order.

The ASBOs were made at Worcester Magistrates Court to control the brothers, who have a history of causing harassment, alarm or distress" to people in the town.

South Worcestershire Police warned that further ASBOs are on the way as they use the latest legislation to tackle the problem.

The first two have effectively removed Anthony and Marc Bonehill from what are historically areas well known for anti-social behaviour, said Insp Steve Brooker, head of policing in Wychavon.

With more ASBOs in the pipeline we are hopeful that this will see a new era with regard to this type of problem in the town.

Equally importantly, they also send out a clear message to other youths and young men who we have had to deal with. The police mean business when we say we are determined to maintain law and order in Droitwich.

PC Lloyd Buffery, who patrols the areas covered by the ASBOs, added that the townspeople "greatly welcomed" the move.
