IT is the end of an era for Evening News deliveries at Cutnall Green, with the retirement of dedicated delivery woman, Brenda Rastall, after a quarter of a century.
Come rain or shine, local residents have come to rely on Mrs Rastall and members of her family to pop the news through local letterboxes.
Up to 20 addresses at a time have been marked down for regular deliveries.
Mrs Rastall, of Elmley Close, said: People look forward to the Evening News in Cutnall Green. But we've had to call it a day.
Mrs Rastall, aged 64, is giving up for reasons of health, secure in the knowledge that the Evening News will still be available from Cutnall Green Post Office.
Family
Recently, Mrs Rastall's sister, Beryl Roberts, has been delivering the news.
Before then, Mrs Rastall's daughter, Tracey, used to make deliveries, until her marriage, 16 years ago.
Then the news sack was firmly on Mrs Rastell's shoulders until Saturday, May 29, when she and her sister finally decided to stand down, bringing to a close some 25 years of service to her community.
