"IT'S all been a big misunderstanding," said Alvechurch joint boss Neil Bryan who is adamant he will not be leaving the Lye Meadow club.
Bryan, who took charge of the Churchmen at the beginning of last year with Ross Knight after the departure of Andy Hibbert, looked set to be on his way with the club advertising his post.
But after a crunch meeting last Friday night, May 28, Bryan discussed terms with the Alvechurch board and has now revealed that he will not be leaving the Redditch Road side.
He said: "I had a good chat with the board last Friday and it was all decided then.
"We couldn't help the job advertisement going to print because it was too late by then, but it was all a bit embarrassing."
The Churchmen have had a good season after surviving in the Alliance and picking up the Worcestershire Senior Urn along the way.
Bryan added: "I've done my job.
"At the beginning of the season my target was to keep Alvechurch in the Alliance.
"I think the success we had the previous season when we were promoted was something I think the board were expecting this season but there is a vast difference between the Midland Combination and the Alliance."
And the Church managerial partnership is looking to blossom again at the start of the coming season.
Bryan said: "It's all sorted out now and myself and Ross Knight will be here at the start of this season and we're just looking forward next season.
"Ross Knight has done a magnificent job bringing in players and has helped no end in what we achieved at the end of last season."
And when asked what fans can expect from the Churchmen next season Bryan was upbeat.
"What's required this season with the way we finished winning the Senior Urn I think we've got to be aiming for a top ten finish - that's first and foremost and from there we'll take whatever comes.
"Once we get into March we'll know better and if the opportunities there we'll take it," he added.
