NORTH Midlands won the Tetley's County Shield with a 58-5 win over Eastern Counties at Twickenham.
Last Saturday's victory was North Midlands' first major honour since winning the County Championship in 1978 and their first final appearance for 22 years.
The team featured Bromsgrove RFC First XV stars Jon Taylor and Tom Churchill in the starting line-up, while Richard Arnold came on as a replacement.
North Midlands, also with former Finstall Park coach David Stout in their ranks, started as favourites and lived up to their billing with a 22-0 half time lead, adding 35 more points after the break.
