A MULTI-talented sportsman from Droitwich Spa is hoping to use his height to make it as a goalkeeper with a top Midlands football club.
Chris Higgins, six feet five tall, has signed a short-term contract with Division One side Coventry City and, if successful, could land a scholarship at the end of this summer at the club's academy.
The 15-year-old, also part of Cutnall Green Cricket Club's First XI and a member of Droitwich Spa High School's successful Year 10 basketball team, was scouted in February.
He spent six weeks with the Sky Blues, which saw him play against the Australia youth team, before being offered a contract.
Proud father Derek, also of Cutnall Green CC, said: "He's had the chance 95 per cent of kids haven't had and he's played at grounds you just dream of playing football in."
