WORCESTER City's latest transfer target is 3,000 miles away in America -- but John Barton is confident of landing his man.
Barton is holidaying in Spain while the Conference player in question is coaching in the States, but City chairman Dave Boddy disclosed that talks have been progressing well.
"John Barton is talking to a player who is currently coaching in American," said Boddy.
"He's not therefore been able to tie up the deal but is confident of getting his man who has been a top line Conference player in the last two seasons.
"He has also spoken to two other players and is in advanced discussions with them."
Meanwhile. City's board of directors met last night and held a minute's silence in memory of Evening News Deputy Sports Editor Tony Moore who died last weekend.
Boddy also revealed the club planned to hold a minute's silence for him during one of City's pre-season friendlies.
