YOUR correspondent of April 30 regarding preferences for roundabouts to traffic lights should be invited to visit the attempted roundabout between the Salwarpe and Kidderminster roads.

It has been under construction for more than three months, with three-way temporary traffic lights, resulting in chaos and utter frustration.

The pace of progress is snail-like and shows little sign of completion. Furthermore, this section of road has been dug up countless times for as long as the waterside development has been underway, in an almost cavalier attitude to road users.

I would also agree with a previous correspondent that the siting of traffic lights adjacent to the Worcestershire is very poor, forcing motorists too far backward from the junction in favour of a cycle crossing which should be part of the pedestrian crossing -- resulting in major blind spots.

There are some very poor road junctions around Droitwich, (Hanbury Road and Stone Cross, etc) and I wonder if the next Christmas calendar might rival the Roundabouts of Redditch calendar.
