I WAS very concerned to read on the front page of last week's paper that my local council requires support from Central Government to sort out their poor performance.
As a resident and council tax payer I am extremely perplexed by this position. We have a multi-million pound public organisation who cannot get their act together. Even the basic service of refuse collection is in a mess, and my hard earned money is going down the drain as I am presently receiving a poor service.
So we are now in the position that a department of the Labour Government has had to be parachuted into a Conservative run authority to ,as the story said, 'help the failing district council get back on track'.
This must be highly embarrassing for the Tory run administration, and even more embarrassing for Miss Julie Kirkbride, the Conservative MP for Bromsgrove.
So my question to the locally elected member of parliament is - what are you going to do to resolve your party's poor management of Bromsgrove District Council?
