TWO show stealing brothers from Rubery have landed top parts in a new play after dazzling judges at an audition.
Stuart and Mikey Lightfoot will both star in Ridin' the No. Eight, the forthcoming production at the Repertory Theatre in Birmingham.
"I am so proud of them both," said mum Julie Kite-Lightfoot.
"They had to each go to three different auditions to demonstrate their singing, acting and dancing abilities and I kept preparing them for disappointment, saying 'it's all good practise'.
"For one of them to get a part is great, but for both of them to is wonderful."
The new show, which runs from June 29 to July 17, is the follow-up to the successful 'Wallop Mrs Cox' staged at the theatre last year.
Playwrights Euan Rose from Bromsgrove and Laurie Hornsby have penned the script, which once again stars Malcolm Boyden, famed for his stint as a disc jockey on BBC Radio WM.
Audiences will be taken on a nostalgic musical trip around the second city, including the stories of how Birmingham City Football Club and the balti evolved.
The Rubery two, both students at Waseley Hills High School, are no strangers to the stage, having already starred in a host of professional productions.
Last Christmas, Mikey, aged 12, scored the part of Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol at the Alexandra Theatre, while Stuart, aged 14, starred alongside TV's Matthew Kelly in Peter Pan at the Rep. Both are members of the Betty Fox Stage School in Moseley.
"They are doing really well and it is something they both enjoy so much," added Julie, of Waseley Road. Tickets are available from the Centenary Square theatre on 0121 236 4455.
