FOUR comedies are on offer to keep us all entertained throughout the sizzling summer season at the Malvern Theatres.

Starting with The Gingerbread Lady from early this month, the season ends with London Suite from mid-July.

Popular actress, Lesley Joseph, features as Evelyn Meara in The Gingerbread Lady. A nightclub singer, Evy broke the house record -- she fell off her seat 17 times in one show!

Back from rehab, she's ready to start life again, supported by her equally precious friends, a worthless ex-lover and a devoted teenage daughter.

Hit comedy Dinner comes direct from the West End and stars television sirens Stephanie Beacham, Gaby Roslin and Louise Jameson. Paige, hostess extraordinarie, is holding a party to celebrate the publication of her husband's bestseller. As events take a unexpected turn, the dinner from hell begins

Alice, played by Gwen Taylor, is the widow of a famous sculptor. Her charisma, humour and bohemian spirit captivate all those around her. Following a proposal to publish her late husband's memoirs, the secrets of Alice's early life come tumbling out, revealing a surprise twist in this wonderfully comic tale. About Alice also stars television's Francis Matthews and Ben Hull.

Finally, John Challis and Sue Holderness, who played TV favourites Boycie and Marlene, are joined by Sara Crowe and Mark Curry in London Suite. The play is set in a hotel room and presents episodes in the lives of four different groups of people who temporarily become its guests, including the inebriated Welsh writer holding his business partner at gunpoint and a married couple with a back problem.
