REDDITCH-based storage and logistics company Oakland International has expanded through an amalgamation of its contract packing operation with that of Birmingham-based Deltex.

The move is expected to generate about £1 million in additional sales over the next 12 months.

Oakland general manager Dean Attwell said there were benefits for customers of both firms.

The Deltex operation has been brought under one roof at Oakland's site and the move means the combined customer base will benefit from access to a larger range of services, including packing and labelling operations, flowrapping, inspection and metal detection.

Oakland provides a complete British Retail Consortium-accredited storage, picking, packing and distribution service to most household names, including Sainsbury's and Tesco.

Deltex's client portfolio includes manufacturers supplying food and ambient products into international markets and the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
