TOWNSPEOPLE have another chance to walk around Worcestershire's lovely countryside looking at archaeological features and discovering historic landscapes.
A new series of the popular guided walks has been organised to take place on Sunday afternoons over the summer and autumn months, with the staff from Worcestershire County Council's Historic Environment and Archaeology Service.
The first Walkpast was held recently by Ripple, near Upton-upon-Severn, and the other walkpasts will be: Clifton-on-Teme and Grafton Flyford this month. In July there will be a walk around Longdon Marsh and in August, Shona Robson-Glyde and Anna Deeks will be leading a walk in Astley and Arley Kings. Deborah Overton will lead a walk around Cotheridge in September and later in the month people will have a chance to visit the Chateau Park, Droitwich, with Liz Pearson and finally, to finish off the series, Tom Vaughn will lead a walk up to the iron age hillfort at Woodbury, Great Whitley.
All the walks are suitable for beginners with an interest in archaeology and those who would like to further their knowledge of Worcestershire's archaeology.
If you are interested in joining one or all of the walks, call Mo Bogaard on 01905 855455 for further details.
Each walk costs £5 for adults, £1 for children and £3 for concessions -- and there is a discount for booking all the walks.
