Our meeting at the end of April was a pleasantly relaxed affair, during which more stories of wedding reminiscences were told by members for inclusion in the celebration of marriage book being complied by Steve and Ann Barlow. Also discussed were arrangements for the church fete on June 12. Other dates to look forward to are Thursday, July 1, 7pm at Margaret Bradford's home, Newlyn, Worcester Road, Wychbold, Upton Warren Women's fellowship strawberry supper; Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11, celebration of marriage event staged in all three churches of the parish.
Some of us were able to get to Mamble-cum-bayton fellowship's hosting fo the annual meeting of the Federation of Church Fellowship's. This far-flung corner of Worcestershire is very beautiful. Yet another delight awaited us -- at the end of a country mile was the ancient church of St Bartholomew, Bayton, with a magnificent view over the valley to the range of hills beyond to marvel at before entering the church.
We, plus about 60 other ladies, were welcomed by the vicar, the Rev Stephen Owen, and the members of the host fellowship, and took part in the simple but joyful service that followed.
Then to the village hall for a fine tea, an informal meeting and news of one another's doings during the past year.
A report on our songs of praise evening will be in next month's issue. This month we meet on the 24th at 7pm at Angela's home, Springbank, Worcester Road, for a garden party. There will be a bring and buy table in aid of funds for the celebration of marriage event.
