IN answer to Terry James' letter (You Say, May 20) about the female soldier smiling at the prospect of going to Iraq, as to the smile, I can assure you that wasn't the way she was feeling when she left.
Our daughter is well aware of the implications and the importance of her role in such a serious situation.
She and her colleagues have shown that they are professional in their commitment, as do all the servicemen and women thrust into this situation, irrespective of the political issues as to why they have been called to Iraq.
We should all be very proud and support these brave soldiers who are willing to serve, and in some cases give their lives doing the job they are trained to do.
It takes very special people to serve in the Armed Forces.
