AS the final chapter in this epic trilogy finally comes to an end how fitting that The Return of The King is as good as, if not better than the Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers.
With Saruman defeated, Return of the King continues the story of Frodo and Sam's journey with Gollum to destroy the One Ring in the fiery pits of Mount Doom.
Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli battle to scrape together enough men from across Middle-earth to take on the forces of Dark Lord Sauron in one breathtaking battle at Gondor.
This picture won 11 Academy Awards for just the film last year but the DVD contains much more than that.
Okay, so you can skip past the look at the special video games bit and possibly the trailers but from then on disc two is a real eye-opener.
Purists would argue that looking at how the film was painstakingly put together would ruin the fantasy of the whole movie.
This may be true but they would miss out on a lot.
The in-depth programme with director Peter Jackson really shows his passion for the whole story.
But possibly the most enjoyable 'extra' would be the so-called 'featurettes' which give a real insight into the goings-on in Middle-earth.
