BROMSGROVE rally driver Nathan Crewe is trying to save his Silkolene 1400 Championship hopes after more bad luck.
Crewe and navigator Mark Ammonds were forced to retire from round five at Swansea's Red Dragon Rally on Saturday, May 22, when a hose came off the car over rough ground, emptying coolant from the engine.
It is the second piece of misfortune the pair have had in successive rallies after rolling their MG ZR on to its roof at round four last month.
The team, who worked round the clock to get the car ready after round four's roll, had third place and their best finish of the season in sight before the incident.
They now need to finish the Quinton Stages Rally, in Llandovery, on July 10 to keep their title hopes alive.
