RACHAEL Dixon's been hitting the bullseye in the darts world this year and it promises to get even better for the Evesham player.

Now ranked tenth in the world, the Vale thrower has booked her place at the prestigious Embassy World Masters and Winmau Championship later this year and she was positively blooming earlier as June arrived when winning the Kent Open on Mon-day.

The generosity of one of her sponsors has also enabled Dixon to accept an invitation to play in a tournament in Las Vegas that is being televised by Sky TV.

The year started when she finished runner-up in the Scottish Open Pairs after claiming fifth place in the singles event.

Off to Germany, she then collected more ranking points when finishing joint ninth in the Open singles after defeating the world No 5.

She then teamed up with Bredon's Darren Barnett and Terry Randall from Birmingham to win the Isle of Man Mixed Triples tournament when a team containing Peter Manley was sent crashing.

A visit to Antwerp then saw Dixon in good form in both singles and doubles. She lost out in the Mixed semi-finals partnered by Terry Jackson and narrowly missed out on a place in the last four of the singles.

There was another huge field at the Welsh Open where Dixon was successful in the women's doubles when teaming up with Colleen Hunt.

More ranking points were also collected despite the disappointment of defeat in the singles quarter-finals.

There was more success when Dixon called on fellow Evesham darter Tracey Bishop in a bid to qualify for the Gold Cup at Lakeside in July.

Success continues to bring more and more travelling and increased expenditure and anyone willing to offer financial aid of any kind is asked to ring Rachael on 01386 422831 to discuss any sponsorship support.
