A BROMSGROVE Olympique cyclist tested herself against Europe's elite over the Bank Holiday weeked.
Francine Billington rode for the West Midlands women's team in the international Bedford three-day event comprising of two time trials, a circuit race and two 80km road races.
Francine, unable to train of late due to having wisdom teeth removed and a virus, rode well in the 70-strong field, including more than 20 elite category riders and teams from Ireland, Holland and Malta.
She saved her best for the last day when she held onto the leading group to contest a sprint finish, eventually ending up 53rd.
Tomorrow (Thursday) sees the last of the night time trials at Hanbury for a fortnight, while the British Schools' Cycling Association's National Grass Track Championships are at North Bromsgrove High School this Saturday.
