MEMBERS and visitors to Throckmorton CPSC were welcomed by warm sunny weather and they responded with an excellent display of Clay Shooting.

The conditions made for consistent targets and the regulars on the Skeet Layout saw John Arnold (25/25) complete another maximum.

With the targets flying true, Arnold's score was matched by Mark Doughty and Rob Wise. The former completed a double maximum with his second visit to the discipline.

Paul Colley, Frank Harrison, Cliff Hawkes and Graham Wal-ker all missed out on the elusive maximum by a single target.

On the Down the Line discipline, Mal McColl achieved another milestone by breaking into the 20s consistently achieving two 20s and a 22 to equal his mentor's score.

John Ford also returned 22 but It was left to the big guns in the form of Wise and Jim Ford to head the leader board.

The latter blitzed the opposition from the start with a faultless maximum, while Wise was left to rue the use of his second barrel on a single occasion.

Alf Symonds, Stuart Emms, Dave Crowley, Paul Colley, Jim Tapp and Lewis Thorner all let one target pass.

The Sporting layout saw Clay Target Shooting of the highest quality.

An English sporting layout had Jim Ford and John Tarplee competing for top spot. On this occasion it was Ford who rose to the occasion to post an excellent top score of 48/50.

Ford's score was two short of a maximum and was one target better than Tarplee's total. Wise and Stuart Emms had equal scores of 46/50 to head pursuers Tom Partridge 44/50, Paul Colley and Adam Barnfield (both 42/50.
