AT the May 12 luncheon, members were invited to a cream tea afternoon at Kings Court Hotel on June 16 at 3pm.
There is also to be an outing to Frogmore House on September 1 and payment for this should be made at the June luncheon.
Speaker Mr Barry Fletcher spoke about his experiences as a wartime evacuee in a talk entitled Moving Experience and Memorabilia.
Assisted by his wife, Jean, Barry spoke about being evacuated at the age of eight from Station Road Board School Junior and Infants, Witton, by train from Aston station to Redditch and was billeted in Feckenham at The Big House, as he called it.
He has written a small book, which contains stories from other evacuees telling their different experiences, some amusing, some sad.
He also decided to try and find as many of the other evacuees from his school, which he did by advertising in several papers.
The result - the formation of The Witton Reunion Group, which now have mini holiday breaks two or three times a year.
Barry and Jean went to look for the house where he was billeted and were invited in by the present occupier to have a look around, which brought back many memories.
Doris Short gave the vote of thanks for a most interesting afternoon, which revived many memories for some members who has also been evacuees.
The next meeting will be the AGM, followed by a quiz on Wednesday, June 9.
