ANNUAL MEETING: At Fladbury Parish Council's annual meeting, all the existing councillors accepted office for the forthcoming year. It was agreed that Mrs C Worthington should be co-opted onto the council, replacing Mr Ian Baldry who had resigned. The chairman was thanked for his sterling efforts over the past year and was re-elected.
It was confirmed that grants would go to Fladbury Village Hall, the Parochial Church Council for the Church Clock, Citizens' Advice Bureau and Cotswold Line.
MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MARCH MEETING: Land at rear of Butt Furlong: The land trust had put together an offer but unfortunately two higher offers had been put forward so the land was to be auctioned in July.
Bus stop - northern travel direction: It was agreed that if the bus stop required a shelter it should be sited using the Pound area at the existing official bus stop. If a shelter was not required then consideration was giving to moving it near the village green. The chairman agreed to meet the authorities concerned to see if the proposed sites could be used.
Glebe Estate allotment fires: Further complaints had been received after another tyre fire despite instructions from the land agents. The owners had been informed of the situation. Any further fires were to be brought to their attention.
County coun Eyre reported that she hoped that a full cabinet would overrule the council's officials with regard to no speed limit on the A44 through the parish and beyond. She felt the case was well supported by village speed initiatives, accident statistics and DOT road space issues.
Wychavon Parish Games: It was agreed that the clerk should write to the three licensed establishments in the village offering to pay their entrance fees to the games.
Village Hall Committee: The chairman had recently resigned and the committee was struggling. It was agreed to discuss the situation at the next meeting.
Parish Plan: Feedback from the annual parish meeting had been disappointing and the clerk was asked to circulate a letter to local organisations to see if any volunteers were forthcoming.
Next meeting: June 14 at 7.30pm in Sports Pavilion.
