PARISH COUNCIL: Preceding the monthly meeting, held in King George's Hall, the elections of officers took place. The only change was for coun J Medlyn to join the planning sub-committee, otherwise positions remain the same.
Coun L Stowe, chaired the meeting.
Matters arising: Permission has been granted to make repairs to the Plantation. An application for a grant for new play equipment is being made.
Plans for the re-siting of a zebra crossing planned for the High Street are under review by the highway authorities. Coun J Medlyn, as promised, has planted the tubs at the Ballard Close and Tadpole Fountains.
The wooden guard around the tree on the cemetery bank has been adjusted. Nothing has been done about a request for a coffee shop sign on the Plantation by the King George's Hall Committee.
District councillor S Jepson gave her report, she reported on the policing meeting held in Chipping Campden Town Hall. It was disappointing, that only four members of the public attended, and they were outnumbered by police present.
Tomorrow there will be placed a container for the collection of acceptable plastic waste in Back Ends, Chipping Campden. No suitable site has yet been found for such a container in Mickleton.
Footpaths, Pavements and Roads: It was agreed by those councillors present to write to the owners of Tudor House, regarding cutting back their overgrown hedge obscuring vital road signs and to house owners in Cedar Road, to cut back their overgrown hedge on a footpath.
Fosseways will be written to about grass cutting at Hill View and Cedar Road car park.
Correspondence: Gloucestershire County Council wrote asking if Mickleton could be entered into the Gloucestershire Best Kept Village Competition. As Mickleton has already entered into the Bledisloe Cup Competition - the answer to the request was yes. Judging for this competition will be taking place in July.
AOB: Coun M Smith asked if the post box situated at The Butts could perhaps be moved down to the Leaslow pull-in as a matter of a road safety issue. The clerk will write to the Post Office to see if this is feasible.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, June 30 at 7.30pm.
