ST PETER'S CHURCH: In June the church remembers St Peter. Patronal and other services will be held in the parish church and a patronal festival service with songs of praise on Sawpit Green on Sunday, June 13. This will be attended by the Salvation Army Band with refreshments afterwards at the village hall.

On Saturday, June 26 there will be the annual morning market and coffee morning in the village hall in aid of church funds.

PARISH WALKS: The next organised walk will be on Sunday, June 13, leaving the Jubilee Seat at 2pm for a three to four-mile walk. Inquiries to Ruth Daintith 853845.

BLEDISLOE CUP: The village has again entered the Bledisloe Best-Kept Village Competition the first judging for which takes place from June 5 to 19. Having been successful many times in the past, villagers are confident of maintaining its high standards. The usual co-operation of all the willing volunteers and groups is invited.

VILLAGE SCHOOL: On July 10 the Friends of the Willersey School will be holding an event at the village hall from 10am to 2pm to include a table-top and boot sale, a raffle and tombola, and the usual cake and other stalls. Inquiries to Linda Frost 852376.

WEDNESDAY CLUB: At two recent meetings members heard talks on, firstly, British Castles by Mr Peter Gale, and secondly, The World of Sundials by Miss Jill Watson. Both talks were much enjoyed. At last week's meeting a talk was given by Mr Michael Blinkhorn on The Tales of the Antiques Auctioneer.

The present season ends on June 9 with the annual summer party which is so looked forward to and is provided, with entertainment, by the committee.
