POINT-TO-POINT: Jockey Richard Burton went to the Albrighton Woodland Hunt point-to-point at Chaddesley Corbett on Monday two winners behind his nearest rival Ashley Farrant in the championship race.

But, despite the Shropshire-based rider scoring a hat-trick, at the end of the day the status quo was maintained as Farrant matched his efforts with a three-timer in Devon.

Snowtre has given Burton three wins at a crucial stage of the season, thanks to the generosity of his usual pilot Adrian Wintle and owner Jim Callow to aid Burton's championship bid.

The horse chalked up his triple in the space of 10 days for his Broome connections and was too speedy for The Campdonian over the final two fences.

With several confirmed front runners, the Mixed Open was always going to be run at a fast pace.

Jemaro's victory gave Burton his second win and set a new course record.

His third was provided by Sabena Canyon who had been bought from Market Drayton sales for a modest sum by his owner Don Constable.
