BOXING: Stourport welterweight Ernie Smith was stopped with 25 seconds of the third round left in Huddersfield last week.
The Wyre Forest boxer stepped in at short notice to provide an opponent for unbeaten Liverpool fighter Graham Delehedy.
With all his previous bouts won by stoppages, it was clear Delehedy was looking to keep his impressive run going.
Smith began behind a busy jab but his opponent was quick to cut off the ring and he replied to a right uppercut with a heavy right hook.
Birkenhead referee Chris Kelly eventually dived in to call a halt to the bout.
