HEREFORD Rowing Club's annual regatta brought a host of fine performances from the home club as well as several wins.
The morning division saw Hereford victories in the following events.
Women's senior two eight, Rebecca Hancock, Emma Bennett, Sarah James, Juliet Simpson, Veronica Preedy, Alex Look, Janet Kaye, Lucy Edwards coxed by Becky Young; senior two coxless fours, Jed Greenhouse, Les Morris, Rob Francis, Chris Head; senior two double sculls, Janet Kaye, Sarah James, and the Jun 15 sculls, Charlotte Townsend.
The sprint eight saw the six entries reduced down to two Hereford finalist and the closely fought final was won by the 'A' crew of Serena Crump, Sharon Colley, Julie Gray, Jane Fisher, Jed Greenhouse, Les Morris, Rob Francis, Chris Head and cox Robin Morris.
The afternoon division saw wins in the men's senior two double sculls, Alun Brown, Ali Campbell, men's senior four quad, Ben Guy, Dave Blackham, and women's junior 15 double sculls, Charlotte Townsend and Steph Tully.
The Hereford club were also involved in the Metropolitan Regatta at Dorney Lake near Windsor highlighted by an excellent performance by the women's senior two coxed four.
Coxed by Robin Morris, the four of Serena Crump, Sharon Colley, Julie Gray and Jane Fisher (Worcester) took control of the race in the early stages and eased to an impressive three-length victory against strong opposition.
The women's senior two eight of Rebecca Hancock, Emma Bennett, Jo Cross, Juliet Simpson, Veronica Preedy, Alex Look, Janet Kaye, Lucy Edwards and cox Beccky Young finished a respectable fifth in their final and the men's senior one pair of Andrew Moxon and Christian Jones finished fourth in their final.
