AROUND £6,000 of damage was caused to several vehicles in a Bewdley golf club after burglars broke into a compound and drove them around the course.

West Mercia Constabulary spokeswoman, Julie Wedgbury, said seven golf buggies had been taken out of their storage unit and damaged between 9pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday.

"Someone broke into the compound, took out seven buggies and had a drive around in them and left them in a damaged condition," she said. "There was around £6,000 of damage, which is quite major."
