PRIMARY school children in the north Cotswolds have been getting the drift of the continents.

The children at Mickleton Primary School spent last week learning about North America, South America, Asia and Africa, with each of the four classes studying a different continent.

During the week, the children had a chance to watch salsa and North American Indian dancing, were visited by an African drum group and tasted Indian food.

The week ended with children coming to school dressed in various costumes from the continents they were learning about.

Head Graham Davidson said: "It's important to give the children a world view.

"There's normally not a lot of space in the curriculum for that sort of thing."
