There are a few things to mention for this week. Most of them concern forthcoming attractions, as it were. The first of these is the first car boot sale hosted by the Pheasant, tomorrow (Saturday morning). Details can be obtained from the Pheasant on 01684 310400 or 311637. Then there is the car boot for the Teddy Bears on Sunday on the Recreation Ground.
The PTA has its car boot sale on June 13 and the Pre-School its on June 27. These all start at the usual time of noon. As usual, teas and cakes will be available in the hall. Cars are £5 and trailers/vans are £7, payable on the gate. Another item for forthcoming activities is the Cordery Club's outing on June 17 to Thomas Morris House, Upton-upon-Severn, for tea.
The other forthcoming attraction, before the village gete on July 3 and the Welland Steam Rally, is the grand opening celebrations for the new Welland Playing Field (otherwise known as Spittalfields). This takes place, obviously on the field itself, on Saturday, June 19 from 2.30pm. There will be arena events, funfair attractions and display stands. In the evening, live music until Midnight.
