Despite failing to find a Malvern store, they have opened the Shires Gallery in Sidbury, Worcester, while they continue their search for premises here.
A professional artist for 28-years, Mr Howells is known for his traditional rural paintings, landscapes and horses.
He was previously based in Alcester, near Stratford-upon-Avon, but regularly visited the Malvern Hills and Malvern Theatres.
"My wife comes from Worcester and it's an area that we know quite well," he said.
