WITH polling approaching, I am reminded that at the last local elections I was discussing with a canvasser the difficulty of meeting vast Council Taxes when on low incomes and how we had to use cash from diminishing savings. She rebuked me for not taking any action, so this year I did - I wrote to my local councillor two months ago and while I did not expect any miracle cures I did anticipate a reply. But not one word did I receive, not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement.
Is this ignorance or complete disinterest? I should very much like to now whether any of your readers have been subjected to similar treatment.
