AFTER a stunning gig at Colwall Village Hall two years ago, Anglo-Swedish band Swp is coming back to the area.
The band is rooted in the traditions of the two countries, but plays with the energy of a young garage band and the subtlety and dynamics of a string quartet.
Swp features Karen Tweed, undisputed queen of the piano accordion, who has played with Kathryn Tickell, the Poozies and many others, and guitarist Ian Carr, whose CV includes work with Kate Rusby and Eddi Reader.
They are joined by Ola Backstrom on viola d'amour and fiddle and Carina Normansson on fiddle and voice.
The band, which has just released a new album, Mosquito Hunter, is appearing at the Market Theatre, Ledbury, next Saturday (June 12) at 8pm.
Tickets (£12/£6 children) are available from Adrian Mealing on 01684 540366 or adrian@uktouring.org.uk.
