AS a mother of two children at Christopher Whitehead High School, I feel I must say it's time these children had a new school.
Have these councillors and friends of St John's who are so opposed to its relocation been in the building lately? It is dilapidated, antiquated and totally inadequate for the needs of today's students.
The children have to endure the weight of their heavy bags all day as there is no room for lockers.
They get crushed in the corridors during lesson transfer (surely this is a safety issue).
Furthermore, it is difficult to use the toilet as half the cubicles don't even have locks.
Come on all you people opposed to a new school, look past the end of your nose. Does it really matter who builds it? A new school is needed before all the good work of the headmaster and staff is buried beneath the crumbling building.
